Mission Call!!!

As you guys have probably know is that I have been working on going on a mission and getting ready to get my papers in and everything. Today I have received my call at about 12:30 this afternoon on January 21, 2010. I did not however get to open it at that time because my family wanted me to open it while they were there. So I had had to wait to open it at around 3:40 p.m. I AM GOING TO SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, SPANISH SPEAKING!!!! I leave April 21st. I don’t know when I will be speaking for my farewell but I will let you know when that is as soon as I find out! I am so excited! I have some pictures and a video. I just want you guys to know that I know that I am supposed to go there. I would not want to go anywhere else. I know the Lord needs me there to preach to his lost sheep. I am so excited to go! I have felt the spirit so much today (which meant I cried a lot of the day, and that is what I am doing towards the end of the video), and I know that this place is the place I need to be!

The Bruise!!

So you are probably wondering where I got this bruise. Well first of all it was from boating a week ago. It was super fun don’t get me wrong, but oh boy the tubing about killed me! I only rode three times and crashed and burned every time! I got this bruise on the first time I crashed and burned! The very first time I was on the boat! I hit a really big wave and it made me fly. I was still going up when the tube was swept out from under me. Then when I fell I basically side flopped on my side and my whole side is bruised but I only decided to show you my thigh. I really wasn’t willing to show you my whole side. :) The second wipe out was me flipping and rolling on top of the water! I rolled 4 times! It hurt, and I couldn’t breathe for a few seconds! Not cool! So, the third one I actually did do a belly flop! So I was done after that! :) Other than that it was totally a blast! I loved it! It was the last social thing I will probably do for a while, which won’t bother me cause I will be working which means that I will be making money for my mission! That is always good! :)

Caves

Ok, so I haven’t blogged in a long time. So I am going to catch you all up on what has happened in my life for the past few months. Well I will first start by saying that I am done with caves!! I will explain, first it started at my family reunion and we decided to hike to the Timpanogos Caves, which I have to admit that they were cool. But you have to work supper hard to them and to go in them, plus we had a really boring tour guide! Then I went to the craters of the moon with my neighbors the other day and yet we went and did caves! I felt like I was Spiderman on the ground and after the Boy Scout cave my hands were almost bleeding because I didn’t want to die slipping on ice and hit my head on a sharp rock!! Not fun! So I grabbed everything that I could so I wouldn’t die, the rocks were sharp. Oh… and before I forgot there was only one flashlight between us and there were four of us!! But we survived and I do have to admit that caves are really cool. I just guess that I have to be supper prepared when I go to the caves again. :) You know a head light and two head lights attached to both of your legs and a flash light! That’s how you go through a cave! :) I am trying to find a good lesson to learn from them but I will let you know when I figure it out. So some good news!! I finally got a job!! Yay! J I am so happy that I got one! The bad news is it is only 15 hours per week. So I might have to find a second job! Yay, I’m so excited!! :) At least I am on my way to start saving for a mission! :)

Start of Something New! New Semester!

So the semester has started again and I am trying to have a good attitude about it (unlike past semesters)! So I am going to say that I am take so great classes this semester: Children and Family Sciences 209, Math 143 (College Algebra), Intermediate Volleyball, Philosophy 101, and English 258 World Literature 1600s to present! I am very excited! I am also taking some institute classes: Doctrine and Covenants every Tuesday night and Mission Prep every Wednesday night. Yes I said it Mission Prep! I want to go on a mission, and hope to leave sometime next year! I am very excited! I am not going to go to school next semester and work till I leave! J

To tell you a little about my degree that I am going into, this is Early Childhood Blended. This becomes a certificate enabling me to teach. This certificate not only lets me teach but it also lets me work with children from infants to third grade. Not only do I get to work with little children but I get to work with children with special needs, either in schools or work with a program like Head Start or Families Service Coordination or other programs like it. I can also run my own day care! Which would be very fun! J

School Started!

Well school started last week, and I survived. I hope most of you did too! Even though it was kinda stressful I didn't think that taking 17 credits and have two jobs would be so crazy. I guess I am an over achiever. I did get a little social life going a little bit. I didn't realize how many people I knew until I went back to school. About every twenty steps I took when I walked to class on campus I swear I saw someone I knew and they were so kind enough to talk to me back!! That is always exciting when you have a boring summer like I did. Friday night I did go to an institute dance and learned how to waltz!! That was exciting, I did feel like a retard though but that's okay I eventually learned!! I did teach primary today in church! That was fun! I asked my class what was one experience you had when you choose the right and one little boy answered, "The other day me and my cousin had a lemonade stand and my cousin kept yelling LEMONADE GET YOUR LEMONADE!! And I didn't want him to do that anymore. So I threatened him that I would fire him! But then he kept doing it. After a while I got used to it and I chose the right and didn't fire him." It is amazing how much you can learn from little kids. They are so special and have a very good spirit and are so innocent. Sometimes I wish I could go back to that.

About Me!

Well my name is Jaclin, but I like to go by Jaci, and if you were wondering it sounds like Jackie. Some people when they see my name they say JC which bugs the crap out of me, so be worned! ;) Well there is not much to me. I work two jobs and soon will be going to back to school. I am currently going to Idaho State University and I am majoring in Early Childhood Development with and emphasis of Special Education. I work at the College of Ed. and know mostly all of my perfessors that I will be taking from. I also work at Sears and that won't be too long, so I am finding another second job! Stressful, I know! I am a member of the LDS Church and I want to go on a mission in at least a year and a half. So, I am trying to prepare for that, and earn enough money for it. I am the oldest of four. The next oldest is 14, Stephani, then there is Haily, 12, then there is Bryce Jr. or B.J. after my dad and he is 8. My parrents are Bryce and Teri Pratt and I was born and raised here in Idaho. So I am not to far away from home I guess you can say. That is pretty much it. I know pretty boring. But that is me.
